What is the Walk?
‘Walk A Mile In My Shoes’ is held on Saturday, February 26 from 8:00 am – 10:30 am. It is a one mile walk from the Kokomo Rescue Mission to Watered Garden and Open Arms to benefit the Mission’s ministry programs providing safe shelter for the homeless women and women with children staying at these shelters. We hold it purposely in February so those walking can experience what it would feel like to be homeless during harsh winter conditions.

“Walk Where You Are” is held Feb. 1 – 26 allowing participants to choose when and where they will walk a mile making it more convenient for them or their group.

Our goal for 2022 is to raise $150,000 to support our homeless women and women with children’s shelters and programs. Our Walk A Mile donations come from our generous sponsors, and faithful teams or individuals who raise money by collecting donations to support their walk participation. In the last twenty years the Walk A Mile fundraiser has raised over $1,850,000 to support our ministry programs for homeless women and children.
The top three teams who raise the most in donations will receive the following traveling trophies

All the proceeds benefit the Mission’s ministry programs for homeless women and children.
